American Express firmly supports Vendorcom and the role it plays within the UK Card Payment industry. American Express has benefited enormously from its membership, these benefits are numerous, I will try and outline what I see as some of the major ones.
Vendorcom has provided a forum for Amex to present its strategies, products and services direct to the community. This provides the opportunity for one consistent message to be delivered and encourages feedback to be received. As a result, since joining, the Vendor community is significantly more aware of
American Express and its position on key initiatives in the marketplace.
Secondly the Vendorcom Special Interest Group initiatives and its seat around various APACS tables is a major advantage in being part of Vendorcom. The ability to understand the impact on the Vendor community through one appointed voice is hugely beneficial and has assisted American Express in providing the best support it can to the Vendors.
Lastly the value in hearing what is "hot" and meeting many of our Vendor contacts in one place at the quarterly meeting should not be underestimated.
Stuart Batchelor, Head of Network Development UK - American Express
All I can say is that I personally have been a Vendorcom member for 3 years now with 2 different companies, and the information exchange and interaction at Vendorcom forums and events is very important for me as an individual and for my company. To have all partners and competitors under one roof is a very good opportunity to catch up with people/contacts plus discuss common areas of interest, potential business opportunities and sharing ideas is beneficial to be in line with the ever changing payment industry we find ourselves in.
Vendorcom is great value for the membership we pay plus a good way to meet existing and new potential partners.
Simon Marsden, Business Development - Global Refund Group
Vendorcom has proven itself to be the leading forum for the UK Payment sector, bringing together members from all areas of business. The memberships voice is now clearly heard, considered and acted upon within the regulatory developments of the Payment Card Industry.
Valuable information is now readily available on VIZ, a central members' database, as well as the ability to post questions, saving members valuable time in duplicating problems already faced and overcome by others.
The quarterly meetings are invaluable as a source of up to date information presented by the main drivers within the industry whilst providing a pleasant environment for networking with members and visitors. Participation in workshops and work groups provide members a voice in shaping the future of the industry.
TOSHIBA TEC Retail Information Systems S.A. has benefited greatly from its membership and will continue to support the community.
Malcolm Brown, Systems Approvals Manager - ToshibaTEC
As the person responsible for all card payment system testing and approval at Zonal Retail Data Systems Ltd, I find Vendorcom to be invaluable in keeping our company up to date with what is going on in the payment card industry. It is a very good place to network, establish contacts and ask questions of people who can provide answers. Also, with participation in workshops and working groups, Vendorcom gives our company the opportunity to contribute to the development of card payments.
Keith Nugent, Senior Quality Analyst - Zonal
I always find I learn something at Vendorcom meetings, this may be about a new topic or increase my knowledge in key business areas. ACI has found the Contactless Special Interest Group invaluable in clarifying our thinking in this area which has led to more informed discussions with customers.
